How it all started

"Tordney is a creative process as much as it is a self-discovery journey. It all started on a tranquil night when we quietly felt our own heart beating."

Our journey starts on Kickstarter back in the Autumn of 2017. After nights and days of handwork on design, hours of phone call discussions, and with support from our backers, Tordney successfully launched the classical staples: the Mono collection and Dual Collection.

Special Feature 1: Anti-Reflective Coating on one side?

"AR coating on the inside will limit reflection to a level that is acceptable for everyday use. Most importantly, it will keep your level of maintenance low."

- Anti-reflective coating - Only on the inside?

Sapphire crystals is one of the key ingredients for a luxury timepiece. The fine crystals are popular selection, for their sturdiness and reliability.

Being highly reflective, manufacturers tend to paint layers of anti-reflective coatings around both sides of the crystal, to ensure the dial is readable under most lighting. However, this extra coating is vulnerable to scratches.

To balance our product quality and your maintenance frequency, we only applied the anti-reflective coating on the inside.

Vegetable-tanned leathers uses the least amount of chemicals and water during processing, and creates a nice patina alongside your daily usage. The markings write your own story, your habits, and a part of you stays with the timepiece. It is unique to you, carrying your personality and story.

Special Feature 3: Why not quick release strap?

"Quick release system allows anyone to change straps whenever they want.
It is convenient especially for those without experience changing straps.
But what happens when the spring bar breaks?"

Personalized items comes in a lot of different forms: some find it through changing the straps everyday, some wish to engrave their initials. For us, we wish it comes through time, with patina on the Italian genuine leather. With that in mind, we hope our leather strap stay with you as long as possible, minimizing the chance of damage by the quick release spring bar. If this mechanical piece breaks, it is likely the lovely leather goes down along with it, wasting a perfectly good pair of strap.
